GDS Link 2016 Second Edition Newsletter

President’s Perspective

Since the excitement and buzz from LendIt USA 2016 this past April, we have seen the optimism surrounding marketplace lending being tempered somewhat.

To some industry outsiders, there have been doubts the past few months including some MPL organizations struggling with concerns over their business models. This combined with rising delinquencies and impending regulation, many from outside the industry think the marketplace lending market is on a downhill slope.

Those outsiders should take a step back – what the industry is experiencing now, while from the outside seemingly disconcerting, is simply the growing pains of an industry coming into its own and contending with the greater forces at work in the market.

Just because some lenders have experienced some turmoil doesn’t mean the alternative lending landscape is crumbling. The future for MPL is strong. Lenders who embrace the value of sophisticated risk analytics alongside their novel operating models will find themselves well-positioned in the years to come, able to meet the demand of the market and maximize profits.

GDS Link Celebrates a Decade of Providing Industry-Leading Solutions

GDS U.S. – Market Update

As we noted in our previous newsletter, GDS Link has formed a new credit risk and analytics consulting group dedicated to helping lending businesses navigate their risk management challenges. For a portion of our customers, rising delinquencies and increased regulatory pressures are two areas that are requiring greater focus. In order to help our customers with these challenges, we will be releasing two webinars dedicated to providing actionable information around predictive model compliance and optimal collections strategies. This will be the beginning of informative webinars we will be releasing periodically, and we certainly welcome your input on potential topics for the future.

In addition, GDS Link is excited about its recent release of advanced analytics tools, including Assisted Segmentation and Optimization. The GDS Link Assisted Segmentation tool allows a user to easily design a tree segmentation based on data-driven objectives, such as bad rate and profitability. Our Optimization Technology is designed to identify the best decision for a given business problem, given a series of business objectives and constraints. In addition to these, we offer predictive modeling and data source analytics, plus portfolio management strategy design and support across a range of credit and marketing lifecycle areas.

Predictive Model Markup Language (PMML) Powered

Without compromising our user-friendly model editor within our Decision Engine, we have developed and implemented a PMML Consumer plugin that allows direct import from modeling platforms that support the PMML Output Standard. This way, organizations can build a direct bridge between their modeling environments into the decisioning environment with minimal effort and operationally error-free. To learn more, contact us today or visit the Data Mining Group, an independent, vendor led consortium that develops data mining structures, at www.dmg.org.
